AGESSS is incorporated under the Professional Syndicates Act. It is the largest association of managers in Quebec.

AGESSS is the most influential voice for health and social services managers in Quebec. It has nearly 7,000 members and 1,000 retired members.

AGESSS consists of the following:

  • The Financial, Technical, and Informational Resources Department whose role is to manage all aspects of memberships and membership fees. In addition, the department provides support for officers of the Association during election periods and in the management of the accounts departments of our local and regional bodies. Furthermore, this department is responsible for office asset management in order to ensure the advancement of AGESSS, its managerial effectiveness, and its durability.

  • The Legal Affairs and Human Resources Department whose role is to inform, advise, and, if required, represent members to ensure that their rights are respected. This department consist of five lawyers who offer quality, personalized services in complete confidentiality. They are attentive to the needs of members and put their skills to good use in order to intervene in areas related to the working conditions, remuneration, and benefits of Association members. 

  • The Communications and Training Department role is to ensure the Association’s visibility in the media and among its partners. The Department is publishing a quarterly journal L’Intermédiaire and periodic newsletters and is also maintening the website, Facebook page and Twitter account of the Association. It’s developing and providing training to the Association’s members. Moreover, the Communications and Training Department is responsible for the organization of the annual symposium focused on the reality of managers and of the Prix d’excellence a biennial event recognizing the exceptional contribution of managers.
