Welcome to AGESSS


Here are four good reasons to become a member of our Association:

1 — Strength in numbers. With more than 7,000 members and 1,000 retired members, AGESSS is the largest association of managers in Quebec.

2 — Reputation and influence. AGESSS is recognized as the official voice of public health network managers by decree issued by the MSSS. The Association is consulted on various issues and on decisions taken by the Ministry of Health and Social Services and by senior management of institutions.

3 — Expertise. A team of five lawyers offers information, advice, and support at no additional cost. They offer high-quality, confidential, fast and tailored bilingual services that meet your needs.

4 — Legitimacy to provide information concerning management and dossiers related to your working conditions. You will be automatically subscribed to the periodical Le Point en administration de la santé et des services sociaux. In addition, you will have access to the latest developments in the files being managed by AGESSS via various communication tools such as the publication L’Intermédiaire, newsletters, Association press releases, as well as information contained on our website.

Who can be a member of AGESSS?

  • You have a full-time or part-time management position in a health and social services institution or similar body.
  • Your working conditions are governed by the Regulation respecting certain terms of employment applicable to officers of agencies and health and social services institutions (Decree 1218-96).
  • You perform, even on a temporary basis, the functions of a middle manager.
  • You have a regular, full-time or part-time, non-unionized position in a health and social services institution or in a similar body and perform management functions.

You are a member of a competing association? AGESSS will cover, for and in your name, the required 90 days of subscription when you transfer from another association to ours. Here is a sample letter you can use to notify concerned parties of your intent to change associations.

Please note that you must not be involved in a legal dispute with your employer at the time of joining the Association.
